About the BlogThe blog on this site started with the intention of dealing with issues such as performance, musicology, research, reviews (of CDs, DVDs, concerts and books on music), education, theory, and analysis. It is written by Avior Byron and guest writers. The blog aims to provide useful information for music lovers by encouraging critical writing, discussion and international access to music and information on music. The blog also deals with matters that are not particular to Israeli music or musicology. It is one of the first musicology blogs on the web, a pioneer blog with relation to performance studies, and the first of such Israeli blogs written in English. One of its main aims is to encourage discussion, as done in conferences, yet with a larger audience (including music lovers who are not professional musicians), using the benefits and technology of the Internet. The nature of blogs helps to encourage a type of writing about music that is less formal and arguably more passionate. You are welcome to comment on the blog posts and contribute to the discussions. About Avior Byron

During 2004 - 2008 he lectured in the Bar-Ilan University in Israel.
